The last few months have been tougher than expected. Two days before moving house, I broke my ankle, which turned the entire process into a slow and complicated ordeal. But despite the challenges, we’re finally settled — and I now have a dedicated studio space in our new home, something I’ve wanted for a long time.

After the move, we took a restorative trip to the Lake District. The landscape, the wildlife, and the quiet pace were exactly what I needed. I came home with a camera full of inspiration and a clearer head.

In the midst of everything, I also painted my first portrait in fifteen years — a piece of my mum, created with acrylic paint pens. She’s delighted with it, and it felt good to step into a part of my practice I hadn’t touched in so long.

It’s been a challenging season, but a meaningful one. I’m looking forward to settling into the new studio and seeing where this next phase of work leads.
